Do you take pride in safe driving, attention to detail, and playing an essential role in keeping library services running smoothly?RoleGVPL is hiring an Auxiliary Shuttle Driver to help keep our library system connected. In this role, you will operate a delivery vehicle to transport library materials, supplies, and other items between 12 GVPL branches and service locations. Your work helps ensure that resources are available where and when they are needed, supporting excellent library service across Greater Victoria.Reporting to the Facilities and Shuttle Supervisor, the Shuttle Driver ensures the timely and safe delivery of materials, performs routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, and resolves minor issues or refers concerns as needed. The role also involves maintaining logs, supporting shuttle operations, and building positive working relationships with staff, patrons, and community partners.Details This role has an hourly wage of $33.35 plus 14% in lieu of benefits. This role is unionized and subject to all collective agreement provisions negotiated with CUPE 410. This is an auxiliary, on-call position with no guaranteed hours. Hours of work may range from Oto 35 hours per week, based on operational requirements and staffing needs. Shifts are typically scheduled Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Auxiliary employees hired in this competition are expected to: Be available on an on-call basis to: Work throughout the GVPL system, providing delivery services to any branch or location that requires support. Work during peak periods, including Spring Break, summer vacations in July and August, and the holiday season in December. Receive calls to work during days when there are unexpected absences. Work Monday through Saturday throughout the year. Accept and work a minimum of two to three shifts per month when shifts are available. Evening and weekend work may be required.
