Employment Status Union - CUPE Local 402 - Auxiliary ScopeThe City of Surrey Recreation Services Team are looking for Community Services Assistant 2 - Weight Room Attendants that love fitness, motivating people and who are committed to providing great customer service at recreation facilities across the City. This is an auxiliary position which may include weekends, weekdays, and/or evening shifts. We offer a dynamic work environment and excellent opportunities to advance.Responsibilities Demonstrates excellent communication and maintains good working relationships with the public and facility staff. Provides a safe and welcoming environment. Assists participants by providing information, guidance, and facility orientations. Supports participants in meeting their fitness goals. Maintains a daily log of incidents and addresses customer concerns effectively. Sets up and dismantles equipment and program areas. Ensures the fitness centre remains clean, safe, and hazard-free. Checks and maintains equipment to ensure safe public use. Performs administrative duties including but not limited to facility/shift check completion and accident reports.QualificationsSuccessful candidates will have Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by one year of related experience. An equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience may be considered. Emergency First Aid and CPR-C Certificate. A passion for health and wellness. A friendly, customer-centric approach to their work.The following is strongly considered an asset Weight Training or Personal Training Certificate and must be currently registered with one of the following recognized organizations BCRPA BCAK CSEP CFES Other Information Pay Grade Schedule D Hourly Rate $25.54 Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
