Notice of Employment OpportunityBylaw Enforcement OfficerABOUT THE ROLEThe Regional District of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Bylaw Enforcement Officer with Bylaw Services. The Bylaw Enforcement Officer contributes to the effective operation of Bylaw Enforcement Services, primarily through the identifying, investigating, mediating and resolving of bylaw violations and through the providing of enforcement services to all departments within the organization.QUALIFICATIONSQualifications include a High School Diploma, Level One Bylaw Enforcement, and 12 months of additional related coursework such as compliance and enforcement essentials, verbal judo or de-escalation, and conflict resolution/management. Also required are three to five years prior job-related experience in a local government setting, including a minimum of two years' experience in enforcement work. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence, and Occupational First Aid Level I are also required. POSITION DETAILSThis is a permanent full-time (35 hours per week) Union position. This position will be required to work weekends. The (2026) rate of pay is $42.09 to $44.30. The position offers an attractive benefits package as provided within the collective agreement between the Regional District of Nanaimo and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 401.
