Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation . Operate heavy equipment. Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Operate computer controlled equipment. Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS). Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Secure special attachments to equipment. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification. Type of heavy equipment operated: Bulldozer, large or small. Cable shovel, large or small. Asphalt spreader. Concrete spreader. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Employment terms options: Shift.
