Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Wet/damp. Work setting: Commercial. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Work under pressure. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Excellent oral communication. Judgement. Team player.
