Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. All weather conditions. Tasks: Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Estimate costs. Write specifications. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses and other purposes. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Plant and move trees. Tree removal. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification. Arboriculturists Trade Certification. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently.
