The Sr Manager IT PMO is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving the global IT Project Management Office (PMO). This role manages a team of Project Managers and PMO Analysts responsible for delivery governance, project portfolio management, project execution oversight, reporting, and PMO process excellence. The Sr Manager IT PMO serves as the operational leader of the PMO, ensuring that projects are governed consistently, portfolios are managed effectively, risks are identified early, and executive stakeholders have accurate visibility into delivery performance. The role partners closely with IT leadership, business stakeholders, application and infrastructure teams to drive successful execution of strategic initiatives while maintaining compliance with established governance standards and methodologies. The position also plays a key role in standing up and maturing the IT PMO capability globally.
This position reports to the Director – ePMO, Governance & Compliance and is part of the Information Technology group located in Pune and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Build, lead, coach, and develop a global team of Project Managers and PMO professionals. • Establish clear performance expectations and development plans for PMO team members. • Establish standardized project management methodologies, governance processes, templates, and reporting frameworks. • Manage the global IT project portfolio and provide visibility into overall health, priorities, capacity, risks, and dependencies. • Facilitate portfolio reviews with IT leadership and ensure alignment of project investments with business priorities and strategic objective and ensure projects follow established lifecycle methodologies, governance requirements, and project documentation standards. • Monitor project performance across scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and benefits realization and develop executive-level portfolio dashboards and management reports that provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. • Drive PMO maturity improvements through process optimization, automation, governance KPIs, and adoption of best practices.
The essential requirements of the job include:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's in Business Administration, or related field. • 10-15+ years of experience in IT Project Management, PMO leadership, or Portfolio Management. • Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience managing Project Managers or PMO teams. • Proven experience leading enterprise PMOs and portfolio governance functions. • Demonstrated success managing large, complex, global technology portfolios in matrixed global organizations. • Strong expertise in project governance, portfolio management, resource management, financial management and forecasting, risk and issue management, and project recovery. • Executive communication skills with the ability to present portfolio status, risks, resource constraints, and key decisions to senior leadership. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with experience developing dashboards, metrics, and management reporting. • Experience with Project Portfolio Management tools such as Clarity, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Excel/dashboard reporting, Teams, and SharePoint. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
• MBA preferred. • PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, SAFe, Scrum, or Agile PM certification.. Join our winning team today.
