Key Areas of Responsibilities
• Generate revenue by managing and servicing a portfolio of domestic and international institutional clients. • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with large and mid-sized domestic and international clients. • Execute cash equity trades accurately and efficiently in accordance with client instructions and internal trading procedures. • Place and cross block trades while ensuring compliance with applicable market regulations and internal risk controls. • Provide clients with timely market updates, trading insights, execution-related information, and relevant research inputs. • Coordinate with local and international sales trading desks to facilitate seamless execution and client coverage. • Work closely with traders, sales teams, research analysts, operations, risk, compliance, and settlement teams. • Monitor market conditions, liquidity, price movements, volumes, and order flows to support effective trade execution. • Utilise electronic trading platforms, algorithmic trading tools, and other approved IT trading systems. • Ensure accurate communication of client orders, execution status, trade confirmations, and settlement-related information. • Support the execution of institutional orders while considering liquidity, price, timing, market impact, and client requirements. • Maintain up-to-date records of client interactions, orders, executions, trading activity, and revenue performance. • Identify opportunities to expand client coverage, increase trading volumes, and improve revenue generation. • Monitor futures and options markets and provide relevant information to clients where appropriate. • Ensure adherence to internal policies, exchange regulations, compliance requirements, and applicable settlement procedures. • Escalate trade discrepancies, execution issues, client concerns, and operational risks to the relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Management, Economics, or a related discipline. • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in sales trading, cash equity trading, institutional broking, or a related capital-markets role. • Proven ability to generate revenue from large and mid-sized domestic and international institutional clients. • Strong existing relationships with domestic clients and the ability to build and maintain long-term client partnerships. • In-depth understanding of Indian equity markets, market structure, trading practices, and institutional execution. • Good knowledge of cash equities, futures and options markets, electronic trading, algorithmic trading, and block trade execution. • Experience in placing and crossing block trades in accordance with applicable regulations and internal controls. • Proficiency in IT trading systems, electronic trading platforms, algorithmic trading tools, and settlement systems. • Sound understanding of trade execution, order management, clearing, settlement, and post-trade processes. • Strong client-servicing, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-management skills. • Excellent ability to interact effectively with both local and international clients and international sales trading desks. • Strong analytical, commercial, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple client requirements, and perform effectively in a high-pressure trading environment. • Self-motivated, proactive, result-oriented, and commercially focused. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a sales trading and broader capital-markets team. • Excellent command of both spoken and written English. • CA, CFA, or other relevant capital-markets qualification would be preferred.
