About this role

Location: Lahore, Job Summary: The Team Leader – Global Accounting & Inventory Control is responsible for leading a team of accounting professionals supporting the Global retail business. This role oversees accounting financial close (Journal Entries, Reconciliation, analytics), inventory (operations, reconciliations, financial controls, month-end close activities), and continuous process improvements while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX requirements, and company policies. The position partners closely with U.S. and regional based Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Distribution Centers, IT, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. Responsibilities: Key Accountabilities Team Leadership • Lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals • Establish performance goals, KPIs, and development plans. • Allocate workload to meet daily, weekly, and month-end deadlines. • Promote a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement. Inventory Control • Manage inventory operations and accounting for retail stores, distribution centers, e-commerce operations, wholesale and Marketplace. • Review inventory reconciliations between SAP, warehouse management systems, and management reporting • Investigate inventory variances, shrink, damages, write-offs, and adjustments. • Coordinate cycle count and physical inventory accounting. • Ensure timely resolution of inventory exceptions. Global Accounting • Key role in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. • Prepare, review, and as appropriate, Approve journal entries • Prepare and review account reconciliations. • Analyze inventory reserves, obsolescence, and valuation. • Ensure financial results are accurate and submitted on schedule. Internal Controls & Compliance • Maintain compliance with SOX internal control requirements. • Execute and document key financial controls. • Support internal and external audits. • Identify control deficiencies and implement corrective actions.

Process Improvement • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes. • Develop standard operating procedures and desk instructions. • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Improve KPIs related to inventory accuracy, close cycle time, and reconciliation quality.

Business Partnership • Collaborate with U.S. Accounting, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Logistics, and IT teams. • Support SAP enhancements and system testing. • Provide financial analysis related to inventory and operational performance.

Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting • CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent required • 10+ years of accounting & Inventory experience • 5+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience • Experience supporting U.S. retail or consumer products companies preferred • Proven experience in establishing, transferring, leading, and improving shared center processes • Strong understanding of inventory accounting and U.S. GAAP • Experience with SOX controls • Advanced Excel skills • Experience with SAP preferred
