Summary Job Description: Seeking Nurse Manager! Baptist Health Floyd, Emergency Department Observation Unit Full-time (40 Hours Weekly), Days Benefit Eligible
Job Duties: The Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising the staff in their department, programs, budgets, schedules, payroll and equipment. They are to provide leadership through communication and relationship-building, a strong knowledge of the health care environment and business skills. The Nurse Manager functions as an extension of the Director of their department by implementing policies, procedures, and standards of the hospital within the unit managed.
About the Unit: The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care. New Graduate RNs welcome.
Qualifications: Graduate of accredited BSN or MSN program. Master's degree preferred; If no current Master's degree and not pursuing, must obtain national certification in leadership within 2 years. Three (3) years nursing experience required. One (1) year charge nurse or supervisory experience required. BLS for Healthcare Provider required. ACLS required within 12 months of hire. National specialty certification and/or National certification in Nursing Leadership preferred.
