About this role
The Director AI and Discovery leads the discovery, development, and evaluation of AI solutions and emerging-technology proofs-of-concept for government use cases, in line with the NITB Act's mandate to identify IT interventions and develop technologies through centers of excellence. Qualification: Minimum Bachelor's degree, or a Master's degree will be preferred. Professional certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud AI Platforms, or equivalent will be considered an added advantage. Experience: Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in digital technologies, software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or emerging technologies. Experience in managing AI solution development, , research and innovation programs, or enterprise AI implementation will be preferred. Core Competencies: Technical Leadership; Innovation; Communication; Team Leadership. Role-Specific Competencies: AI/ML Development; PoC Delivery; Model Evaluation; Emerging-Technology Research. • Lead and oversee AI & Discovery initiatives to identify opportunities for applying Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in support of digital transformation across Federal Ministries and Divisions. Duties and Responsibilities • Direct technology discovery, research, feasibility assessments, and innovation activities to evaluate AI-enabled solutions for operational improvement. • Collaborate with business process re-engineering, solution architecture, and transformation teams to integrate AI opportunities into digital transformation roadmaps and solution designs. • Oversee proof-of-concept (PoC) planning and innovation initiatives to assess the technical and operational feasibility of emerging technologies prior to implementation. • Support technical readiness within emerging-technologies, as per Information Security policy and assurance. • Ensure AI development aligns with governance, ethics, and applicable security requirements. • Monitor the progress of AI initiatives, projects, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement where required. • Prepare periodic reports on AI initiatives, innovation outcomes, and technology discovery. • Promote institutional capability in Artificial Intelligence through knowledge sharing, innovation initiatives, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
