JOB TITLE:
Multimedia Reporter-Anchor
JOB PURPOSE:
Serves as a multimedia journalist for Student Media products by researching, writing, reporting, and presenting news and feature content across television, livestream, digital, print and social media platforms. This position develops engaging broadcast, print and digital stories while maintaining professional journalistic standards and representing Student Media both on camera and in the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Research, write, and present news, feature, and special interest stories for student broadcast products. • May serve as an on-air anchor, reporter, host, or correspondent for live and recorded productions. • Conduct interviews and gather information for broadcast and multimedia stories. • Write clear, accurate, and engaging scripts for broadcast and digital platforms. • Collaborate with producers, videographers, editors, and other Student Media staff to produce quality content. • Meet production deadlines while maintaining accuracy, fairness, and ethical journalism standards. • Attend editorial meetings, maintain regular office hours of not less than 5 hours each week, and perform other duties as assigned. • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be enrolled as a University of Wyoming student. • Ability to write clear, accurate, and engaging broadcast scripts. • Comfortable speaking on camera and/or on microphone, or willingness to develop on-air presentation skills. • Willingness to learn broadcast production techniques, newsroom workflows, and multimedia storytelling. • Previous experience in broadcasting, journalism, public speaking, video production, podcasting, theater, speech, or related activities is preferred but not required. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in decision-making. • Must be available to start work Aug. 24, 2026.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience serving in a student media leadership position. • Experience coordinating projects or leading teams. • Knowledge of AP Style, media law, and journalistic ethics. • Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, and multimedia storytelling. • Experience planning editorial coverage across multiple media platforms. • Some supervisory experience.

WORK LOCATION:
On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
