Responsibilities: We will use you as the design authority for NetSuite customisation and integration, including architectural decisions, technical standards, code review and design sign-off on non-trivial work.You will lead the design and build of our most complex SuiteScript work, including Map/Reduce at scale, performance-critical Suitelets and RESTlets, and advanced workflow logic.You will act as the escalation point for the team on technical problems.You will own our integration architecture end to end, including flow design patterns, error handling and recovery, monitoring strategy, onboarding new endpoints and retiring legacy integrations where required.You will establish and maintain platform engineering disciplines, including SuiteCloud Development Framework, source control, sandbox and release management, deployment pipelines and governance limit monitoring.You will mentor and upskill our development team through pairing, structured knowledge transfer, code review and technical coaching.You will partner with the IT Manager on the platform roadmap, technical debt management and Phase 2 manufacturing technical design.You will engage directly with business stakeholders on the most complex requirements and translate them into technical design and supporting documentation.You will contribute to third-line support as an escalation specialist for our most complex incidents. We are William Smith Group 1832 Limited, implementing Oracle NetSuite as our core ERP platform with Celigo as the integration layer. Phase 1 covers core back-office functions, warehousing and distribution, and Phase 2 will add manufacturing functionality. We have an in-house development team of two Senior Developers plus a further developer who is growing their NetSuite skills, and this role will add senior technical depth and specialist breadth to that team. This is a senior individual contributor role, parallel to the IT Manager on the technical track, with genuine design authority and influence over our long-term technical direction. We offer a full-time, permanent position based in Barnard Castle, County Durham, with a hybrid working pattern requiring a minimum of two days on-site per week.
