We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join the Substance Misuse team at HMP Moorland, a men's category C Prison and young offender institution located in South Yorkshire.
Free parking, low turnover of staff, wellbeing days, strong relationships and partnerships. Working as part of a small, busy and friendly team. This is a very varied role, running clinics, integrated with primary care, a good induction programme including prison induction, with additional training if required.
Hours
37.5hrs covering Monday to Sunday, working 4 days, with 3 shifts at 9.5hrs and 1 shift 9hrs. Will include 1 in 4 weekends with time back in the week for this shift Bank holidays will be part of the role as well
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary from £34,428 to £41,659 per annum.

Main duties of the job
As a Substance Misuse Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will:
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. You will deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model. You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information. You will support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing. You will also encourage patient involvement in regime and therapeutic activities and create a physical and psychological environment conducive to high quality care. Qualifications:
Registered nurse with NMC registration. Evidence of Continued Professional Development RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake. Experience of working with opiate dependant patients. Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge You must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
