About this role

Job summary

This post forms part of a service currently subject to a service improvement and redesign programme. Service delivery models, roles and structures will be reviewed as part of the improvement process, which may result in changes and a consultation process in line with the Trust's Organisational Change Policy.

We are looking for an excellent Ward Administrator to join our admin team on Dova Unit supporting our Clinical Teams to deliver an excellent service to our patients.

We are inviting applications from individuals with organisation skills, ability to work on your own or as a member of the wider admin team. The successful candidate will be able to communication with staff, servicer users, visitors and carers in a professional manner. The successful candidate must be computer literate, able to use Microsoft office packages and a good telephone manner.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide a comprehensive administration and information service to the Inpatientward within the Mental Health Network, coordinating their activities with other members of theAdministration Team to ensure an efficient and confidential service is provided. To carry out theseduties the ward clerk will be expected to utilise a range of technical skills, which may include wordprocessing, use of e-mail and other IT skills as well as using highly developed inter personal andcommunication skills.

The post holder will be aligned to a specific team and is required to work flexibly in response to the needs of the Networks administrative service providing cover to departments on various sites as directed by their Deputy Admin Lead to ensure continuity of a quality service provision.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications Essential

Good standard of education to NVQ level 3 equivalent. RSA II Typing or equivalent experience. Computer skills - Microsoft Word for Windows, Power Point / Access.

Knowledge Essential

Good communication skills with both external, internal staff/clients/carers.

Experience Essential

Working in an office environment. Previous secretarial/clerical experience.
