About this role

Job summary In this role, you will be a key member of our Transport Team, delivering a friendly, prompt, and professional service on behalf of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

You will support our patients, staff, and services in a variety of important ways. This may include transporting urgent medical samples for testing, taking patients home following their hospital stay, assisting staff travel between hospital sites, or transporting waste to help maintain a safe and clean hospital environment. This is a varied and essential role that directly supports patient care and the smooth running of our hospitals.

Main duties of the job What you will bring to the role A full, clean driving licence An understanding that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check Relevant formal qualifications, such as a Transport NVQ, GCSEs, or equivalent Substantial professional driving experience, ideally in a fastpaced or serviceled environment Experience of working in a customerfocused role, delivering a high standard of service The ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, using radio, telephone, and IT systems A working knowledge and understanding of service users needs and requirements, with a compassionate and respectful approach The ability to remain flexible and adaptable, responding effectively to changing demands that may impact patient care Previous experience working within the NHS or healthcare setting (desirable)

Job Summary

You will support our patients, staff, and services in a variety of important ways. Applicants must have:

Clean driver licence

CPC Card

7.5- Ton licence

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Strong geographical knowledge of Leeds and surrounding areas, with some nationwide travel

The ability to work effectively in a servicefocused environment

Please note, this role includes a significant manual handling element, including the collection and transportation of bulk items.

What you will bring to the role
