We are looking for a full time Assistant Psychologist to join the Eating disorder Team (TEDS) within Community CAMHS working with Children and Adolescents with mental health difficulties. This role is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to work alongside a multi disciplinary team, who have a reputation for their strong team work ethos and excellent delivery of care.

Main duties of the job
The Eating disorder service are a team of professionals from different backgrounds working towards the same goal and within the wider community team, sharing joint team structures such as team meetings and complex case discussions.
Under regular supervision from a Clinical Psychologist, you will develop skills to support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Eating disorder service, across all sectors of care including brief psychological interventions.
In addition, you will support the service in areas of development of service evaluation and any other projects that are appropriate to the role, for example participation in audit, service evaluation and service development projects.

Keynsham community CAMHS is a thriving team of professionals, working together towards shared goals. There is an emphasis throughout the service and the Team on staff wellbeing and training and as a new member of staff you will have access to a wide range of training in therapeutic models relevant to your role. Team members are encouraged to develop their specialist interests and build on their professional skills.
The successful candidate would be offered Clinical Supervision as well as Group Reflective Practice and any additional training required. We look forward to supporting interested candidates to gain valuable experience in Eating disorders.
The post holder will join the Eating disorder team MDT on a Tuesday and work will be allocated and supervised alongside the lead psychologist.
The successful candidate will have a genuine interest and experience in working with young people with mental health problems. In addition, they will demonstrate good communication skills, be very organised, flexible and IT literate (proficient with MS Office, including basic MS Excel abilities).

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology. Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
Desirable
Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional Psychology, Mental Health practice and research design and analysis.
Experience Essential
Previous experience of working with people with emotional, behavioural and/or mental health/ learning difficulties.
Desirable
Experience of working with families and/or carers Experience of paid work in direct care provision that have a number of Mental Health and social need Previous experience of audit and/ or research in a clinical setting Previous experience in an assistant psychology post
Skills/Knowledge Essential
High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive. Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients/parents and colleagues. An understanding of psychology applied to mental health care.
Desirable
High standard of report writing.
Personal Essential
An ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines.
Other Essential
Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.
