Job summary
May Lane Surgery is a busy GP Practice dedicated to delivering excellent healthcare to our patients. We are looking for 2 GP Receptionists to complement our friendly and supportive team. If you are enthusiastic and have great people and communication skills, we would like to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and committed team members with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The roles will include answering phones, navigating patients to the correct service and/or appointments, manning the front desk, scanning documents, prescriptions and other administrative tasks requested by the GPs.
Experience of working in the NHS or with SystmOne would be an advantage but is not essential.
We are looking to recruit 2 staff members for around 20 hours per week, to be worked across the week, with Monday & Friday forming part of the regular working pattern.

Situated in Dursley, on the edge of the Cotswolds, midway between Gloucester and Bristol, May Lane Surgery is a friendly surgery serving approximately 9,500 patients.
Our multi-disciplinary team includes GPs, GP Registrars, Pharmacy Team, Paramedic, Ageing Well Team, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomists and a Social Prescriber. This is all supported by an extensive team of Receptionists, Secretaries and Administrators.

Job description Job responsibilities
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties include but are not limited to, answering patient phone calls, greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy) and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
