GP Receptionist Full Time
Longview Medical Centre is looking to recruit an experienced GP Receptionist/Care Navigator to join our friendly and established practice team.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Working pattern: Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 6.30pm (8:30pm every second Mon) Rate of pay: £12.71 per hour, negotiable depending on experience
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and approachable individual who has previous experience working within a GP practice and is confident using EMIS Web.
Previous GP practice experience and EMIS Web experience are essential for this role.

The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience working within a GP practice. Have experience and a good working knowledge of EMIS Web. Have excellent communication and customer service skills. Be confident and competent using computers and clinical systems. Be organised and able to work accurately in a busy GP practice environment. Be reliable, punctual and flexible to meet the needs of the practice. Have a professional, approachable and friendly manner. Be self-motivated and able to use their own initiative. Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Understand the importance of patient confidentiality and information governance.

Main duties of the role
As a GP Receptionist/Care Navigator, you will be an important first point of contact for our patients and will help ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the practice.
Duties will include:
Providing a professional, friendly and efficient reception service to patients and visitors. Answering incoming telephone calls and dealing with patient enquiries appropriately. Making outgoing telephone calls as required. Action routine and urgent referrals as per the GP instructions. Action all tasks in a timely manner. Manage incoming and outgoing mail. Taking accurate messages and ensuring these are passed promptly to the appropriate member of the team. Supporting patients to access the most appropriate clinician, service or member of the practice team. Booking and managing patient appointments using EMIS Web. Accurately entering and updating patient information on the clinical system. Processing patient queries and administrative requests in accordance with practice procedures. Working closely with the clinical, reception and administration teams. Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Supporting the wider practice team with general reception and administrative duties as required.
