Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident, motivated, and conscientious individual to join Moorfield's Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Quality Compliance Officer within the Ophthalmology and Clinical Support Services (O&CSS) Division.
This pivotal role supports departments to maintain regulatory compliance and accreditation. Reporting to the Quality Manager for O&CSS, the post holder will play a key role in ensuring the division meets wider governance and patient safety objectives.
Moorfield's Eye Hospital is working in partnership with University College London (UCL) to deliver a new world-leading Centre for Eye Health in St Pancras, due to open in summer 2027. As part of the move, O&CSS departments are undertaking significant change, including the review, transfer and re-establishment of licences, permits, certifications and accreditations to ensure ongoing compliance and service continuity.

Main duties of the job
The Quality Compliance Officer will play a critical role in this transition. Working closely with department leads, you will support the maintenance and continual improvement of quality management systems and help ensure compliance is maintained, risks are effectively managed and disruption to patient services is minimised.

Support the management of a quality framework for Life Sciences,Electrophysiology and Imaging departments Be familiar with the departments relevant statutory requirements, the clinical governance, risk management and quality audit policies and procedures Ensure the quality systems comply with applicable regulations or standards, specifically ISO 15189, IQIPS and BS70000, and manage the implementation of any new or revised standards Act as an official internal auditor for the departments Assist with the management and implementation of all documents including quality policies and procedures using I-passport electronic quality management system To participate in and provide information about the functioning and effectiveness of the Quality Management System at applicable meetingsOversee the quality KPIs for the departments, producing quality reports and trend analysis Responsible for developing, maintaining and embedding a Quality Culture throughout Life Sciences, Electrophysiology and Imaging departments The post holder will be required to work independently and be responsible for their own day to day planning and organisation required to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the post Full JD and person specification attached
Some travel between City Road and the new Oriel St Pancras site may be required until the City Road move has been completed.
Person Specification
Education / Qualification Essential
Educated to Degree level Auditor qualification or evidence of auditor training
Desirable
ISO qualification or experience with relevant standards
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Experience of working to ISO standards or regulatory compliance Experience of working to statutory and organisational guidelines and procedures Experience of conducting audits and implementing actions Experience of presenting information to audiences in a variety of formats
