About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Frailty Support Worker on Ward 3 in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.

The post offers the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in caring for frail patients. Dementia and frailty are a growing challenge within healthcare, and we, as healthcare professionals are at the forefront of providing the dignity, support and care that people deserve. The aim of the role would be to improve the patient experience. You would be expected to promote the patients' independence by focusing on their mobility, nutrition and hydration in order to maintain and maximize their functional ability.

Main duties of the job

The post holder should hold an NVQ level 3 in Health or equivalent. They will need to demonstrate that they have good communication skills and that they are an excellent team player as well as being able to work alone. They will be expected to work alongside both the nursing and the therapies team.

The post will include working 7 days a week, with no night duty.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential

Numeracy and literacy to at least GCSE level or equivalent NVQ / Diploma at level 3 in Health and or relevant qualification. Record of professional development

Experience Essential

Recent clinical experience of working within a relevant healthcare or social care environment. Experience of working as part of a team. Willingness to attend to further training

Desirable

Recognise the importance of fundamentals of care. Recognise rehabilitation principles and enabling patient to optimise independence.
