Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our existing team for 1 day per week in the vibrant coastal city of Portsmouth. Portsmouth has easy transport links to London and is situated close to the Isle of Wight with access to the countryside (South Downs) within 30 40 minutes for hiking, cycling, and weekend trips. The city has a combination of historic attractions, a vibrant social scene and holds regular arts, music, and sporting events.
Main duties of the job
Promote high standards of care to service users across a broad range of amputation levels.
Act in a professional manner to colleagues, service users and their families at all times.
Assess,
Manage the patients case, including patient expectation, ensuring the individuals needs are respected and ensuring the patient is informed throughout the process with clear explanations of proposed interventions.
Work within the parameters of accepted "best practice" at all times using evidence-based practices to ensure that all aspects of practice conform to clinical governance.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the most appropriate and effective treatment for service user
Support colleagues and the wider MDT through collaborative working
Support student and apprenticeship clinicians by sharing learning experiences and mentorship

The job role is to provide physiotherapy input to the Regional Prosthetic Service, alongside Band 7 Physiotherapist. To participate in the multi-disciplinary assessment process, negotiated client-centred goal settings and completion of outcome measurements for patients post amputation. To be responsible for managing a caseload and to provide appropriate physiotherapy treatments.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy / Diploma in Physiotherapy / Degree in Physiotherapy Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration Evidence of relevant continued professional development a minimum of 3 years clinical experience with some experience of assessing complex disability.
Desirable
Post graduate course(s) in amputee physio management Membership of relevant National Clinical Interest Group eg.BACPAR
