Guttridge Medical Centre is seeking an experienced, approachable and forward-thinking Practice Manager to join our friendly and dedicated team.
With a registered patient population of approximately 4,300 patients, we are looking for an inspirational leader who shares our commitment to excellent patient care, staff wellbeing and continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager with strong leadership, operational and business management skills to play a key role in shaping the future development of our practice.
Working closely with the GP Partner, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of practice management.
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent leadership, sound judgement, strong business acumen and a patient-centred approach. You will be responsible for managing and developing our multidisciplinary team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and supporting its long-term strategic and financial sustainability.
Main duties of the job
Leading, motivating and developing the practice team.
Managing Human Resources, including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management and staff wellbeing.
Developing and implementing strategic business plans and supporting service development.
Managing practice finances, budgets, contracts and maximising practice income.
Ensuring effective clinical and information governance, CQC compliance and risk management and DSP toolkit compliance.
Ensuring appropriate Health & Safety arrangements andeffective business continuity plans are maintained and ensuring the practice environment is safe and effective
Supporting training and research activity in the practice.
Developing strong and constructive relationships with NHS organisations, the Primary Care Network (PCN) and other external stakeholders.
Working closely with the GP Partner to ensure the practice remains financially sustainable while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and leading change effectively across the practice.

Be confident working autonomously while also being an effective team player and trusted adviser to the GP Partner.
Previous experience within general practice or primary care management is highly desirable, together with a good understanding of NHS primary care, practice finance, HR, governance and regulatory requirements.

Experience Essential
Experience of working in primary care as practice manager.
Qualifications Essential
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
Desirable
ILM, CMI or equivalent leadership qualification HR qualification Finance or business management qualification Associate Member of IGPM in view of becoming a full member (MIGPM) AMSPAR qualification (L5 in Primary Care and Health Management)
