About this role

Job summary

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and highly reliable Shared PCN Administrator to provide high-quality, coordinated administrative support to PCN management across multiple Primary Care Networks within Wigan Borough. This new cross-network role is integral to delivering consistent and effective administrative and governance support, enabling PCN leaders to focus on service delivery, transformation, and improving patient outcomes.

The role will support day-to-day operational administration, with a particular focus on meeting coordination, documentation, communication, and the smooth running of PCN contracts and projects.

Main duties of the job

Administrative support

Assist with data entry, reporting, and information management as required

Provide comprehensive administrative support to PCN Senior Leads across the borough Support the organisation and coordination of PCN-wide activities and programmes Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, trackers, and documentation Assist with data entry, reporting, and information management as requiredMeeting Coordination & Support

Organise and coordinate meetings Attend meetings where required taking accurate minutes and action logs Track and follow up on actions Maintain forward plans and meeting schedules

Communication & Stakeholder Support

Act as point of contact for PCN-related administration queries Support cross-borough PCN/ Practice communications and wider partnersBECCOR Contract administrative support

Provide administrative support,maintain documentation, support meetings and communications to the delivery and oversight of the GM BECCOR contract across Wigan Borough

Governance & Compliance Support

Support the maintenance of governance documentation

Ensure documentation is stored and managed in line with information governance requirementsSystem & Process Support

Support the use of digital systems Contribute to improving administrative processes and efficiencies across PCNs Support audit and assurance processes where requiredAdditional duties as reasonably requested to support the needs of the PCNs as directed

Wigan GP Alliance will be the lead employer for this role.

Since 2015 the Alliance has been supporting our Borough working with PCNs, Federations, Practices, Secondary Care, Wigan Council, ICB, Community Provides and VCSE delivering wide ranging services to improve clinical delivery and patient access.

Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Support

Assist with data entry, reporting, and information management as required

Meeting Coordination & Support

Organise and coordinate meetings, including:

Scheduling and diary management

Preparing and distributing agendas

Collating and circulating papers

Attend meetings where required and:

Take accurate minutes and action logs

Track and follow up on actions

Maintain forward plans and meeting schedules across PCNs

Communication & Stakeholder Support

Act as a point of contact for PCN-related administrative queries

Support communication between:

PCN Senior Leads / PCN Managers

PCN Clinical Directors

GP practices

Wider system partners (e.g. community services, ICB teams)

Draft and circulate communications on behalf of PCNs

BECCOR Contract Administrative Support

Provide administrative support to the delivery and oversight of the Greater Manchester BECCOR contract across Wigan Borough

Maintain documentation, trackers, and reporting aligned to BECCOR requirements

Support coordination of meetings, updates, and communications related to BECCOR delivery

Assist with monitoring performance, milestones, and actions linked to the contract

Support with accurate and timely collation of information for reporting and assurance processes

Governance & Compliance Support

Support the maintenance of governance documentation, including:

Policies

Terms of reference

Registers (e.g. risk, actions)

Ensure documentation is stored and managed in line with information governance requirements

System & Process Support

Support the use of digital systems (e.g. MS Teams, shared drives, clinical/admin systems where appropriate)

Contribute to improving administrative processes and efficiencies across PCNs

Support audit and assurance processes where required

Perform any additional duties as reasonably requested to support the needs of the PCNs as requested by your line manager.

Person Specification

Essential

Previous experience in an administrative role

Strong organisational and time management skills

Experience of minute taking and meeting coordination

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work across multiple teams and priorities

Good IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook)

Desirable

Experience working in primary care, NHS, or PCN environment

Understanding of PCN structures and services

Experience supporting governance processes

The role may require travel across Wigan Borough

Flexibility may be required to support meetings outside standard hours (e.g. evenings)
