What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Market Intelligence Analyst, responsible for providing high-quality market, competitor, customer and industry insight to support ITM’s market, business development and sales teams in driving our business growth and sales performance.
The role will gather, analyse and interpret market and competitor information to identify competitive insights, emerging trends, growth opportunities and potential risks. Working closely with commercial and technical stakeholders across the business, the Market Intelligence Analyst will translate complex market data into actionable recommendations that support market entry strategies, product development and specific competitive business development and sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis
• Conduct market sizing, segmentation and opportunity analysis to identify attractive growth areas.
• Source and maintain market data to support strategic and sales analysis
• Maintain a structured view of target markets, customer segments and strategic opportunities.
Competitive Intelligence
• Track competitor strategies, market positioning, project deployment, product development, partnerships and expansion activities.
• Develop and maintain competitor profiles and product comparisons to provide specific and actionable market insights to support business development and sales.
• Identify potential threats and opportunities arising from competitor and market developments.
Strategic Insights & Reporting
• Produce regular market intelligence reports, dashboards and executive briefings.
• Transform data and research into actionable recommendations for leadership and customer facing teams.
• Support the development of market entry and growth strategies.
• Present market insights to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Commercial Support
• Support Business Development and Sales teams with competitor, customer, sector and market insights.
• Provide intelligence to inform pipeline development and opportunity prioritisation.
• Support partnership identification and evaluation activities.
Knowledge Management
• Establish and maintain market intelligence databases, tools and information sources.
• Ensure market insight is effectively shared across commercial and leadership teams.
• Develop processes for capturing, organising and disseminating intelligence across the business.
About You
Essential
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Energy, Data Analytics, Statistics or a related discipline.
Desirable
• Master's degree in Business, Economics, Energy Markets, Data Analytics or Strategy.
• Professional training in market research, data analytics or business intelligence.
• Demonstrable interest in energy transition, hydrogen and emerging technologies.
Knowledge and Experience
• Experience in market intelligence, market research, strategy, business analysis or commercial insight roles.
• Experience conducting market, customer and competitor analysis.
• Experience supporting strategic planning or commercial decision-making.
• Experience within hydrogen, energy, industrial gases, chemicals, cleantech or related sectors desirable.
• Familiarity with market modelling, forecasting and analytical frameworks.
Skills and Abilities
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking capability.
• Ability to interpret complex information and identify strategic implications.
• Excellent research and data gathering skills.
• Strong Excel, Power BI and data visualisation capabilities.
• Experience with market intelligence databases, research platforms and business information tools.
• Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise multiple projects.
