Dietary Aide – Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service

• Assist in preparing food for regular and special meals.

• Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining areas as instructed.

• Prepare food items in accordance with sanitary regulations and facility policies.

• Serve food in the dining room and deliver meal trays or food carts to designated areas.

• Distribute and collect menus as required.

• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed.

• Ensure food and supplies for the next meal are ready and properly organized.

Cleaning & Sanitation

• Clean and sanitize work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators, freezers, and other kitchen surfaces.

• Sweep and mop floors regularly.

• Wash and clean utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools; return them to proper storage areas.

• Carry soiled linens to wash areas and dispose of garbage properly.

• Ensure work areas are kept clean, dry, and free from hazards.

• Follow proper dishwashing and cleaning procedures to ensure utensils are ready for the next meal.

Inventory & Supply Management

• Obtain and stock food supplies for upcoming meals.

• Put away stock in labeled areas; date and rotate items as needed to ensure freshness.
