About this role

Schedule: Monday - Friday| Job Location Type: Hybrid

What to expect.

• Manage a portfolio of grants and contracts from award budgeting, post-award management, through closeout.

• Review and monitor grant expenditures for accuracy, allowability, allocability, and compliance with funding requirements.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant financial reports for funders and internal stakeholders.

• Reconcile grant activity to the general ledger and investigate variances or discrepancies.

• Track grant budgets, expenditures, and record revenue recognition.

• Record grant-related journal entries and ensure proper account coding.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and private funding regulations.

• Support Single Audit, 440 Audits, and other external audit activities by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.

• Conduct budget-to-actual analyses and explain significant variances

• Prepare reconciliation for assigned general ledger accounts, investigate reconciling items, and prepare correcting entries as necessary.

• Analyze AR Aging Reports and follow-up collection of accounts as necessary.

• Supports HUD Accounting cash function.

• Performs other duties or special projects as assigned

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience. This position has a pay range of $67,999.78 to $108,576.83.

What we need from you.

• Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and three years of relevant work experience in the accounting field.

• Work requires professional level of knowledge of accounting principles and theory and effective verbal and written communication skills - acquired through a bachelor's degree in accounting.

• Work requires level of knowledge of financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, advanced excel skills is a must, computerized accounting systems and related computerized systems – acquired through 5-10 years' progressively more responsible experience in general or grants accounting, preferably in a healthcare environment. Work experience with HUD programming is also preferable.

• Work requires a high level of problem-solving skills sufficient to analyze processes and results, implement changes in processes and procedures, and effectively identify and resolve problems.

• Work requires interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with clients, external auditors and Finance Division and Sheppard Pratt staff (21-50% of work time).

• Work requires attention to detail and coordinating limited resources to meet deadlines, and very frequently (51-80% of work time) produces a great deal on mental/visual stress and fatigue.
