About this role
Responsibilities:
• Perform maintenance which includes adding oil to engine, adding sand and water to engine, lubricating all hinges, replacing all worn dc electric motor brushes within locomotive, changing all filters, adding traction motor grease to motors and removing dirt from electrical cabinets.
• Rail Car repairs.
• Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools.
• Service crane operation.
• Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching.
• Maintenance of assigned vehicle.
• General repairs of other equipment if necessary.
• Trouble shoots and repairs equipment as needed.
• Maintain Safe and clean work area.
• Observance of Operating and Safety Procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:
• Experienced in welding preferred
• Experience in rail car repair preferred
