Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
• Assist in overseeing the Food & Beverage (F&B) department, including restaurant food service, production, and bar service.
• Help establish a positive work environment and culture of exceptional guest service and superior food quality.
• Ensure compliance with Jamul Casino policies, local/state health codes, and liquor regulations.
• Support achievement of financial goals set by the General Manager and Director of F&B.
• Maintain a visible presence to support and engage guests.
• Manage guest requests, complaints, and accidents to ensure swift resolution and satisfaction.
• Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline team members as needed.
• Maintain quality service standards through proper policy enforcement.
• Maintain effective communication between dining area and other departments.
• Conduct investigations into service issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in inventory and supply management, including establishing par levels and ordering.
• Ensure equipment cleanliness and maintenance protocols are followed.
• Complete F&B reporting and ensure timely submission.
• Take an active role in recruiting, training, scheduling, and motivating F&B team members.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma required; associate degree or higher in a food & beverage-related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or hotel setting.
• Knowledge of food handling, storage, industrial kitchen equipment, and prep techniques.
• Experience managing budgets and inventory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized under pressure.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a guest-first mindset.
Certificates and Licenses
Must be able to obtain and maintain the following:
• ServSafe Certification
• TiPS Certification
• RBS Certification (within 60 days of employment)
• All required gaming licenses and regulatory permits
Supervisory Responsibilities
• May have direct supervisory duties.
• Manages workflow and provides coaching and counseling to team members.
Language Skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English is required.
Mathematical Skills
• Proficiency in basic math, including money handling and measurement conversions.
Reasoning Ability
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Physical Demands
• Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach, and communicate.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and work in confined spaces.
Work Environment
• Noise level is typically very loud.
• Exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke.
