Underground Surveyor

Alamos Gold's Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada's largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos' foundation for growth for many years to come. Are you passionate about mining surveying and data? Do you thrive in a technical, field-based, and safety-focused environment? If you are an experienced Underground Surveyor who excels in precision, data analysis, and independent work, we want you on our team!
Role Overview
As an Underground Surveyor, you will play a strategic role in supporting safe and efficient mine development and production activities. You will be responsible for executing surveying functions across both surface and underground operations, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting. Working closely with the Senior Engineer and operations teams, you will enhance planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall mine performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Underground Surveying: Conduct underground surveys to support mine development and production.
• Development Support: Provide line and grade to underground workplaces to ensure accurate development.
• Raise Surveying: Conduct alimak raise surveys and install survey control points.
• Drill Layout: Mark up diamond drill and long-hole drill lines.
• Survey Technology & Data: Perform drone scans, CMS surveys, and generate prints based on survey data.
What You Bring to the Table
• Experience in surveying within mining or underground environments, with strong technical skills.
• Proven ability in accurate survey data collection, interpretation, and reporting.
• Post-secondary education in Surveying, Mining Technology, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Deswik, Excel, or other mine planning software is an asset.
• Passion for precision, safety, and continuous improvement in mining operations.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, and work in varying terrain.
• Capability to perform fieldwork in underground and outdoor conditions
• Moderate physical effort including carrying equipment

Pay/Shift Range: $62,250 CAD - $112,150 CAD
