PWM Data Management & Data Governance
The PWM Data Domain is responsible for executing the business data strategy across Private Wealth Management. The function operates across three core pillars: Data Management, Cloud & Agentic Enablement, and Data Governance. This role sits within the Data Governance pillar and is responsible for establishing, operating, and continuously enhancing the PWM data governance framework.
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Data Governance Lead to drive governance execution across the PWM data landscape. The successful candidate will serve as the central coordinator for data governance activities, working closely with business stakeholders, data owners, technology teams, and control functions to ensure data remains trusted, governed, and fit for purpose.
A key aspect of the role will be leading governance forums, overseeing data quality and remediation activities, maintaining the PWM data landscape, and ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and regulatory expectations.
Main Responsibilities
Data Governance Framework & Operating Model Execute and continuously enhance the PWM Data Governance FrameworkDrive adoption of data governance standards, policies, and controls across PWMDefine and maintain governance processes, procedures, and operating modelsEnsure alignment with enterprise data governance standards and regulatory expectationsPromote a data ownership and accountability culture across the organization
Governance Committee Management Organize and run quarterly Data Governance Committee meetingsPrepare governance materials, dashboards, and management reporting packsTrack governance actions, decisions, risks, and remediation commitmentsFacilitate discussions between business, technology, and control stakeholdersProvide regular updates to senior management on governance progress and priorities
Data Landscape & Metadata Management Maintain an up-to-date inventory of critical data assets, reports, systems, and data flowsCoordinate periodic reviews of the PWM data landscape and data domain coverageEnsure business ownership, stewardship, and accountability assignments remain currentSupport data lineage, metadata management, and data catalog initiativesIdentify governance gaps resulting from new systems, business processes, or regulatory requirements
Data Quality & Issue Management Establish and monitor data quality metrics and governance KPIsCoordinate end-to-end management of data quality issues and exceptionsTrack remediation plans and challenge overdue actionsDrive root cause analysis and sustainable resolution of recurring data issuesProduce regular management reporting on data quality trends and remediation progress
Regulatory & Risk Management Support compliance with data-related regulatory requirements and internal policiesPartner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Audit teams on governance mattersCoordinate evidence gathering for audits, regulatory inquiries, and governance reviewsMonitor and assess impacts of new governance requirements and policiesEnsure governance controls are appropriately documented and operating effectively
Stakeholder Management & Change Enablement Act as the primary governance liaison across business, technology, analytics, and control functionsDrive governance awareness and training across PWMFacilitate working groups to resolve cross-functional data challengesInfluence stakeholders to adopt governance best practices and remediation actionsSupport strategic governance initiatives and transformation programs
Required Experience 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management, or related disciplinesStrong understanding of data governance frameworks, data ownership models, and data quality managementProven experience leading governance forums, steering committees, or working groupsExperience managing remediation programs and coordinating cross-functional stakeholdersStrong understanding of data lineage, metadata, data catalog, and data control conceptsExcellent presentation, communication, and senior stakeholder management skillsExperience in Financial Services, Wealth Management, or Banking preferredFamiliarity with regulatory expectations relating to data governance and risk managementExperience with governance and reporting tools such as Power BI, Collibra, Alation, Snowflake, or similar platforms is advantageous
