Job Summary:
The Skilled Technician - Level III performs advanced manufacturing and maintenance activities that support production and operational excellence. The role is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity standards. Working with a high degree of proficiency, the technician supports continuous improvement initiatives, coaches team members, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
Promote a safe working environment by complying with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulations.Stop work immediately and report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, injuries, or environmental risks.Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices when working with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other industrial systems.Identify and eliminate hazards within area of responsibility and actively participate in HSE training and safety improvement initiatives. Perform manufacturing, maintenance, and inspection activities with high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.Execute work in accordance with engineering drawings, operation manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.Perform quality inspections and identify opportunities to reduce quality risks and manufacturing defects.Support equipment uptime through preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.Provide feedback to preventive maintenance systems and contribute to equipment reliability improvements. Perform skilled manufacturing and maintenance activities using appropriate tools, machinery, measuring instruments, and specialty equipment.Support daily production targets while maintaining safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity objectives.Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and participate in downtime and failure analysis.Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning.Identify manufacturing constraints, solve operational problems, and support process improvement initiatives.Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement activities to enhance manufacturing performance. Team Leadership & Collaboration
Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to team members with less experience.Coordinate effectively with production teams, maintenance, quality, engineering, and other support functions.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve operational goals.Support workforce engagement and effectively collaborate within a unionized manufacturing environment where applicable.Contribute to employee development through knowledge sharing and on-the-job coaching. Maintain accurate maintenance, production, and quality documentation.Utilize manufacturing and enterprise systems such as Oracle, QSOL, Ariba, or equivalent platforms to support operational activities.Complete assigned training and continuously develop technical and professional capabilities. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).High school diploma or equivalent may be considered where permitted by applicable regulations and supported by relevant experience.Export control or regulatory licensing may be required depending on business and country requirements. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, maintenance, or industrial environment.Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and their operation.Experience performing preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.Good understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards.Proficiency in using manufacturing systems such as Oracle, QSOL, Ariba, or similar ERP and operational platforms.Experience leading shop-floor teams and driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM) performance.Ability to effectively manage internal stakeholders and collaborate across cross-functional teams.Experience working with unionized associates is preferred.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to coach others, work independently, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Employee need to have mining exposure. Employee have to travel at sites for problem resolutions.Employee need to build good CRM with Dealership, OEMs and Customers.Employee will be posted at Asansol (dealership office).Employee must have minimum 5 years of experience in Service Field.
