About this role
Agent Lending Technology Analytics team have a requirement for a versatile, experienced software engineer with solid exposure in database technologies, ETL development, SQL, and Java. The individual will play a key part in the development of solutions within the Analytics space.
Job responsibilities
Liaise with Business Analysts, Product team and End Users for an understanding of the requirements.Build robust, scalable applications that require participation in every facet of the SDLC.Partner with global development teams and user base.Ability to organize a development plan to meet agreed deadlines.Produce code that conforms to controls standards, e.g. jobs should be re-runnable with minimal effort.Develop diligently with a high regard for system reliability.Enforce discipline across software development lifecycle including test-driven development. Contribute to continuous improvement.Help support our environment and effective utilization of the platform. Ensure that systems run well in production, are highly available at disaster recovery and have sufficient capacity. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Solid experience as a database developer in large-scale Unix and Linux environmentsSolid experience as an ETL developer with exposure to modern ETL and data integration toolsExperience developing or supporting Java-based applications/servicesExpertise in database design, logical modelling and UNIX / LINUX operating systemsExpertise in PL/SQL, ANSI SQL or Transact-SQL, SQL queriesData modelling experience (warehousing, marts, star schemas and relational)Experience in database migration strategies and upgradesExperience with traditional and modern Data Warehouse environments (Dimensional Modeling)Exposure to database tuning techniquesExperience with performance analysis and monitoring toolsExposure to capacity expansion and infrastructure scalabilityUnderstanding of backup and recovery strategiesExperience with database administration, data migration, partitioning, materialized views and performance optimization techniquesExperience running and supporting large databases under high transaction ratesAbility to manage database maintenance activities including backups, indexing, integrity and consistency checksAbility to analyze traces, build and debug stored procedures, triggers and packagesUnderstanding of Database Architecture, Operating Systems, Client/Server Architecture, Middleware and Hardware (Servers, SAN, Network).Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with other operational support teams and vendors to support the serviceDemonstrate ownership and strong problem management, problem solving and prevention of SLA breaches under Incident / Problem Management processes.Experience with SDLC / Agile methodologiesStrong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a global team Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
