About this role

Description

The candidate will be a member of the Chase Auto Corporate Development Finance deal team, responsible for modeling deal economics with major auto producers and co-leading negotiations. The Private Label Captive Finance team serves as a planning and analytical resource to help executives manage, forecast, plan, and assess business profitability and new opportunities. We use financial data and recommendations to influence the Auto Leadership Team on the direction to pursue. This includes upside sensitivities showing projected profit if deals perform as expected, as well as downside risk sizing for potential "black swan" events such as economic hardship or car maker specific challenges. We also analyze emerging technologies to identify defensive and offensive opportunities and use these insights to help drive new strategies within Chase Auto.

As an Associate Financial Analysis in the Chase Auto Corporate Development Finance Deal Team, you will evaluate partnership opportunities and support negotiations by modeling economics, risks, and returns. You will help leaders understand expected profitability, key sensitivities, and potential downside outcomes under adverse scenarios. You will partner closely with stakeholders across Pricing, Business, and Credit to align assumptions and translate analysis into decisions. You will communicate findings through executive-ready materials that are clear, concise, and actionable.

You will contribute to business cases that span volume growth, revenue, expenses, and credit losses. You will analyze performance and portfolio trends to inform forecasts and opportunity sizing. You will also support strategic assessments of emerging technologies and market shifts such as identifying opportunities that protect existing business and unlock new sources of revenue. You will operate in a collaborative environment that values curiosity, ownership, and well-supported points of view.

Job responsibilities

Build and maintain Excel-based financial models to evaluate partnership economics and growth opportunities across the business development lifecycleDevelop business cases for new initiatives, including assumptions for originations, revenue, expenses, and credit lossesPerform profitability and income statement analysis to identify performance drivers and inform management decisionsConduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to quantify upside potential and downside risk under adverse conditionsAnalyze large historical datasets to identify trends and develop forecasts supporting strategic decision-makingDevelop deep understanding of loan and lease profitability drivers to improve business case quality and rigorPartner with cross-functional teams (including Pricing, Business, and Credit) to align inputs, assumptions, and recommendationsCreate clear, executive-ready presentations that communicate complex analysis in a concise and compelling wayPresent findings and recommendations to stakeholders across Finance, Business Development/Sales, and RiskSupport ongoing monitoring of deal performance and key metrics, escalating insights and risks as appropriate Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field2 + years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or accountingAdvanced Excel skills, including building structured models and performing scenario/sensitivity analysisExperience working with large datasets (extracting, cleaning, and manipulating data to produce insights)Ability to translate financial results into clear recommendations and decision-ready summariesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearlyExperience creating executive-ready materials in PowerPoint (or equivalent presentation tools)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail and comfort with ambiguityDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlinesProven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience in consumer lending, auto finance, or another regulated financial services businessExperience supporting partnership, pricing, or deal-related analysesFamiliarity with credit loss concepts and risk-adjusted profitability frameworksExperience building forecasts and tracking performance to plan (variance analysis)Proficiency with SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytics toolsExperience presenting to senior stakeholders and responding to feedback in real timeInterest in market and technology trends impacting automotive and lending ecosystems Additional Information
