The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

The TV ARC is based within the Department of Psychiatry at Oxford and the Thames Valley research ecosystem spans several boundaries between different care settings, commissioners and providers, and across the translational continuum. Our work is organised across three thematic areas- Start Well, Live Well, Age Well- along with five cross cutting themes: digital; health tech and data; community, social, and home care; knowledge mobilisation, implementation, and partnerships; research inclusion and health inequalities; planning and delivering social care.

About the Role

The post is funded until April 2031 and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.

You will act as a critical interface between ARC and the ICB, embedding research capability within commissioning, transformation and service design functions, and ensuring that research evidence is systematically used to inform decision-making and improve population health outcomes. You will provide regular reporting into ICB governance structures (e.g. executive, transformation, or research committees) to ensure alignment with system priorities and impact.You will co-develop reporting outputs that meet both ARC (NIHR) and ICB performance and assurance requirements execution and successful delivery. You will provide expert advice on capabilities and behaviours that show readiness for research delivery and or application in real-world settings.

About You

You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience and have proven experience of designing and delivering inclusive capacity development programmes in multi-stakeholder settings. You will have experience of working with or within Integrated Care Systems (ICS) / Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). Experience of working in partnerships across University, NHS, social care, local authority and or community sectors is desirable.
