The Role
We are recruiting Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTF) for our Newcastle, UK campus.
This post is offered on a one-year fixed term contract commencing from August 2026.
There is potential for a second year in the post, subject to satisfactory performance in the role.
For this post we require highly motivated and enthusiastic doctors, who will be an important part of the School of Medicine team in Newcastle This fixed-term development post offers doctors, with an interest in teaching, the opportunity to take time away from clinical practice to enhance their teaching skills, before returning to clinical practice as a more developed clinical educator
For this reason, previous holders of either our Clinical Teaching Fellow role or our Anatomy Teaching Fellow role are not eligible to apply, N.B. You will be involved in the delivery of our MBBS curriculum to year 1 and 2 medical students for clinical skills You will have the opportunity to contribute to education research projects and to the development of teaching and learning activities and resources You will also be offered the opportunity to undertake the Certificate in Clinical Education You are expected to have an MBBS degree, to be clinically active with a license to practice, to have relevant experience in the NHS, and to have completed your Foundation training (or equivalent) by August 2026. There are no clinical, patient-facing duties within the clinical teaching fellow role.
