Department: Scotland Memorial Hospital - Central Billing Office: Coding Status: Full time Shift: 1st (United States of America) Schedule Details/Additional Information: Full Time Position - Possible remote after 90 days - Hours 8:00-4:30
Job Description: 1.Codes and abstracts outpatient accounts daily using computer generated work ques of discharged patient encounters. 2.Competent in coding of Outpatient Records for both ICD-10 CM and CPT codes for both hospital and professional. 3.Populates correct discharge dispositions as well as applicable occurrence codes. 4.Reviews the record for medical necessity. 5.Assists other departments / offices as a coding resource. 6.Follows up on accounts needing additional documentation for coding. 7.Utilizes all specialized coding resources available for accuracy in coding.
