Elko Sanitation is seeking a dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. SCHEDULE: Full Time | Monday – Friday.
• 8–10 hours/day | 7:00am-7:00pm. • Overtime paid after 40 hours
SALARY: Starting at $29.00+ per hour (DOE)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles. • Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. • Use computerized diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine issues. • Conduct safety inspections and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs). • Document repairs, parts usage, and labor hours using fleet maintenance software. • Communicate repair needs and work status with drivers, technicians, and supervisors. • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all company and OSHA safety standards. • Perform additional maintenance and repair duties as needed to support fleet operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driving Record (Required) • 2+ years of diesel repair experience (fleet, trucking, heavy equipment, etc.) or completion of a diesel tech program • Ability to read and interpret service manuals in English • Provide personal tools. • Welding or fabrication experience is a big plus! .
