This is a Material Handler I role in Storage Control department with the work shift of Monday-Friday, 10:30pm.-7:00am. A Day in the Life:
• Receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements. • Preparing and filing routine documentation. • Maintaining quality metrics. • Operating material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, Forklift etc). • Working in and out of a +4c walk-in Cold Room and -20c walk-in Freezer. Experience:
• No previous work experience required • Preferred: Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field • Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively. • Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds. • Demonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. Physical Requirements / Work Environment
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Close vision and ability to adjust focus required. • Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.
Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $12.56–$18.84. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
