Job Summary The Area / Building Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of Facilities Management (FM) services within the assigned zone or building(s). The role ensures efficient day-to-day operations, maintenance, statutory compliance, contractor performance, and client satisfaction while overseeing the delivery of integrated facilities management services.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the overall performance and delivery of Facilities Management services for the assigned zone or building(s), ensuring compliance with contractual and service level requirements.
• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned facilities, ensuring building systems, maintenance activities, and support services are delivered efficiently.
• Supervise and manage contractors, service providers, and on-site teams to ensure quality, safety, and operational excellence. Act as the primary liaison with clients, tenants, authorities, and internal stakeholders, addressing operational issues and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Monitor operational budgets, maintenance expenditure, and contractor performance while implementing cost control measures. Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH), statutory regulations, fire safety requirements, and company policies through regular inspections and audits.
• Prepare operational reports, performance reviews, maintenance records, and recommendations for continuous improvement and asset enhancement.
Requirements
• Approved tertiary qualification or equivalent with at least five (5) years of relevant post-graduate experience in Projects & Facilities Management, Estate Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, or mixed-use facilities.
• Strong knowledge of facilities management operations, building systems, statutory compliance, and contractor management.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Facilities Management systems (CAFM/CMMS experience is an advantage).
• Fire Safety Manager (FSM) or other relevant FM/WSH certifications will be an added advantage.
