About this role
Introduction Internship focusing on optimizing the internal transfer logic within Shimano Europe.
The Challenge Project Description:
In multi-warehouse supply chains, inefficient transfer orders can lead to excessive transportation costs, unbalanced inventory levels, and unnecessary operational workload. Within Shimano we want to improve the efficiency of inter-warehouse transfers by optimizing both transfer frequency and transfer volume. The objective is to design and develop an efficient logic that determines when a transfer should be triggered and how much stock should be moved to ensure inventory availability while minimizing unnecessary movements.
Goals of the project:
• Identify inefficiencies in existing inter-warehouse transfer logic • Define criteria for optimal transfer timing and volume • Develop a clear and implementable transfer logic Evaluate the impact of the proposed logic on transfer frequency, transferred volume, and operational efficiency
Deliverables:
• Analysis of situation As-is • Transfer logic • Impact assessment
