About this role

[What the role is] You will support the operational backbone of JTC's Investment Division, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of investment activities across internally managed portfolios and externally placed funds. Working within a small, high-performing team, you will play a hands-on role in performance reporting, portfolio valuation, liquidity management, compliance monitoring, and counterparty relationship management. You will also contribute to building robust operational infrastructure and governance frameworks as the Division grows. [What you will be working on] Performance Reporting and Portfolio Valuation

• Prepare and review periodic performance reports across internally managed and externally managed portfolios. • Perform portfolio valuation reconciliation against custodian and fund administrator records, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. • Support the production of management reporting for senior stakeholders.

Securities Settlement and Trade Support

• Support the end-to-end settlement process for the internally managed portfolio, including the confirmation, matching, and settlement of trades. • Develop and maintain operational procedures for the internal trading book, and liaise with custodians and counterparties to resolve settlement queries and exceptions.

Liquidity Management

• Coordinate cash movements with custodians and fund managers to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and investment needs.

Counterparty Relationship Management

• Manage day-to-day relationships with fund managers' operations teams, custodians, trustees, fund administrators, and other key service providers. • Serve as the primary operational point of contact and ensure service levels and obligations are met.

Portfolio Compliance

• Monitor portfolio compliance against investment guidelines, mandate parameters, and applicable regulatory requirements on an ongoing basis. Flag and escalate breaches and assist in their resolution.

Legal and Counterparty Documentation

• Work with external counsel to review, negotiate, and execute investment management agreements, subscription agreements, side letters, and other legal documentation with investment counterparties. • Maintain a well-organised repository of all executed agreements and track key terms and obligations. Tax and Regulatory Obligations

• Review and monitor tax obligations arising from the investment portfolio, including withholding tax, GST, and fund-level tax considerations. • Liaise with tax advisors and counterparties on tax documentation such as W-8BEN and FATCA/CRS requirements.

Technology and Systems Implementation

• Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and onboarding of operations and portfolio management systems appropriate for the Division's needs. • Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to configure systems, map workflows, and ensure data integrity across platforms. • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology as the Division's activities scale.

Governance, Process Enhancement, and Audit Support

• Identify gaps in existing operational processes and controls and implement enhancements to strengthen investment governance. • Contribute to the development of operational policies, procedures, and frameworks. • Liaise with internal audit and support periodic reviews of the Division's control environment, ensuring findings are tracked and remediated in a timely manner.

[What we are looking for]

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in investment operations, fund administration, custody operations, or a related function at an asset manager, institutional investor, bank, or fund administrator. • Familiarity with the operational lifecycle of investment instruments, including fixed income securities and offshore institutional funds. • Experience with custodian and fund administrator reconciliation processes. • Exposure to investment management agreements and subscription documentation is an advantage. • Working knowledge of compliance monitoring and investment guideline frameworks. • Familiarity with tax documentation requirements (e.g. FATCA, CRS, withholding tax) is an advantage. • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in handling data and documentation. • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a lean team environment, with the initiative to build processes from scratch rather than simply follow established ones. • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage external counterparties professionally. • A collaborative, can-do attitude and genuine interest in contributing to the broader success of the Investment Division.
