About this role
[What the role is] This is a 2-year position as a Senior Data Analyst in the Centre for Learning & Teaching Excellence. [What you will be working on] The Senior Data Analyst provides expertise in analytics and data management initiatives that support student success, academic quality, and institutional decision-making. You will play a key role in managing and analysing institutional data such as the Graduate Employment Survey (GES), developing learning analytics insights, and facilitating the use of data to enhance teaching & learning and graduate outcomes.
This position involves close collaboration with academic schools and departments to collect and analyse survey data (e.g. Graduate Employment Survey, Freshmen & Progress Surveys), Module Experience Survey, Students Experience of Teaching Survey) from different stakeholders to ensure alignment with best practices in education and industry standards.
The key duties are as follows:
• Apply specialist knowledge to champion GES and manage survey data, including data preparation, validation, analysis, reporting and stakeholder coordination
• Generate data insights by analysing academic quality, learning and graduate outcomes data to support decision-making
• Develop dashboards and reports by creating and maintaining analytics solutions that provide timely and actionable insights
• Manage data systems and quality by ensuring reliable data, streamlined processes and effective operation of AQ and analytics systems
• Implement analytics innovation by improving workflows through automation, AI and data-driven process changes
[What we are looking for]
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience managing complex datasets
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx or similar analytics tools
• Experience in data modelling, ETL, dashboard development and reporting
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in higher education, institutional research, survey analytics or systems will be an advantage
