MAIN PURPOSE

This role will be a key member of the Cartier Product Marketing & Merchandising team, overseeing the Watches (including Fine Watches: Fine Watchmaking, Collectors and Fine Jewellery Watches) category for North Asia region that includes Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Hainan markets.

She/He is responsible for developing integrated marketing and merchandising strategies and initiatives to drive brand awareness, sales growth and market share of the Watch business in the region, working closely and collaboratively with Commercial, Visual Merchandising, Merchandising, and Operations teams in Central, Regional and local markets.

This role will play a critical part in providing strategic direction for the region, ensuring global brand guidelines are effectively translated into impactful local market activations. This encompasses direct oversight and implementation for Hong Kong and Macau markets, as well as offering strategic guidance and support to the other markets within the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Define regional Watch category strategy and development

• Translate market trends, consumer insights, and sales data into actionable plans for 360 action plans (incl. assortment, pricing and communication)

• Develop and implement comprehensive regional marketing and merchandising strategies that align with the company's overall business goals, brand vision, and financial targets

• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for both product marketing and merchandising functions and regularly monitor the performance of these metrics (both at regional and local levels)

• Identify business opportunities for Watch category at local and/or regional level(s)

• Build 3-year plan (strategic plan and sales ambition) for the category in the region (by segment, by key collection, by market and clientele)

Define product go-to-market action plan and drive performance management

• Define and develop a comprehensive plan at local/regional level to cultivate product expertise within the teams

• Supervise and ensure high-quality sales review and analysis (monthly, yearly, ad-hoc, etc.)

• In collaboration with all different stakeholders, develop strategies and action plans to drive sell-out for the category (including direct oversight and implementation for Hong Kong and Macau markets)

• Drive and ensure effective project implementation through constant tracking and renewal

• Ensure a seamless flow of communication with all Retail Boutiques and office teams

Build and drive regional merchandising strategy

• Be the main referent for Showroom – Watches regional consolidation and consistency (cluster definition, forecasts consolidation, key bets selection, regional specific requests)

• Define and optimize the regional Watches product assortment based on market demand, sales performance, inventory levels, and strategic brand priorities

• Ensure effective product launches in the region, including communication, training materials, and initial stock allocation

• Work closely with Central Merchandising and Product development teams to provide regional insights

• Collaborate with Regional Operations and Commercial teams to define and revise product assortment (by cluster / by boutique) and network strategies

Develop and share regional Watch market intelligence

• Market & Trend Analysis: continuously monitor the Watch market landscapes for Hong Kong and Macau, including key players and emerging trends, to identify opportunities and challenges for the Maison + develop a good understanding of the other Region markets’ landscape (Taiwan and Hainan) by closely collaborating with local teams

• Research & Insights: conduct market research and provide regular updates on market & region happenings (to management and to HQ relevant teams)

• Pricing Strategy: prepare and conduct regular pricing reviews to ensure competitive and strategic positioning

Ensure cross-functional collaboration

• Lead by example and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner

• Collaborate with Cartier Central marketing, merchandising and communications teams to ensure regional strategies are integrated and consistent with worldwide initiatives

• Ensure synergy across full MCC leads and management in each project

Manage and lead the team

• Lead and mentor a team of Product Marketing & Merchandising experts to achieve business goals and objectives

• Accountable for team’s deliverables and professional development

• Foster competent and commercial acumen, dedication, efficiency, and a client-centric mindset

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field

• Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in luxury industry, particularly in strong analytical roles (experience in the luxury watchmaking sector is a plus)

• Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese is highly advantageous

• Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team

• Strategic Thinking: Excellent strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies

• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Brand Affinity: Passion for luxury brands and a deep understanding of brand building and storytelling in the luxury sector
