School Resource Officer - Captain Description The School Resource Officer - Captain position provides administrative and operational support to the Chief of Police in addition to performing duties as School Resource Officer. The position improves departmental efficiency, ensures continuity of operations during the Chief's absence, and provides oversight of key administrative functions, including evidence management and special departmental projects. Responsibilities
• Assist the Chief of Police with administrative tasks, special projects, and departmental initiatives.
• Complete assignments delegated by the Chief in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with departmental scheduling, planning, and coordination as assigned.
• Help prepare reports, policies, presentations, grant documentation, and other administrative documents.
• Provide guidance and assistance to fellow School Resource Officers when needed.
• Assist with department training, safety planning, and emergency preparedness activities.
• Help maintain departmental equipment, records, and operational readiness.
• Serve as the department's evidence custodian and maintain the integrity, security, accountability, and proper documentation of all evidence and property in accordance with departmental policy and applicable law.
• Serve as the acting supervisor during the Chief's absence or when designated by the Chief.
• Perform other administrative, operational, and supervisory duties assigned by the Chief of Police.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Demonstrated experience or training in evidence management. SUPERVISION Reports directly to the Chief of Police.
