FLSA:EXEMPT QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field with at least 24 hours in Accounting. 2. At least five (5) years of experience in school finance - Payroll supervision experience preferred 3. Such additional qualifications as the Board may find ppropriate and acceptable REPORTS TO:Chief Financial Officer SUPERVISES:Payroll Department
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership in the administration of the payroll department; timely and accurate completion of all retirement reports TERM: Twelve Months SALARY: Supervisor/Coordinator Salary Schedule PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: I. To be responsible for administration of the payroll department which includes application of salary and wage schedules and all rules and regulations of the State of Louisiana and the parish school board relating to retirement, withholding tax, sick leave pay, sabbatical leave pay, insurance and other benefits allowed employees. II. To assist in the supervision of the Accounting Department staff III. To assist in developing and maintaining accounting records in accordance with State Law and School Board policies IV. To assist in preparation of payment of monthly retirement reports V. To prepare sick leave certification statements and annual salary information on retiring employees VI. To prepare certification of annual salary and days worked for past and current employees for the retirement system VII. To prepare annual income tax statements VIII. To prepare the PEP Report for budget purposes of all school personnel employed on October 1, of each school year IX. To prepare PEP Report on total actual salaries of all school personnel whose salary is charged between objects 110 through 119 or object 140 X. To assist Data Processing Department in developing new programs required by the payroll department XI. To work with State and Federal Auditors each year XII. To establish and execute a professional growth plan XIII. To keep abreast of new State and Federal laws, as well as changes in current law, through written media, televised media and workshops XIV. To work effectively with school personnel and staff in answering and solving any problems they may have with payroll or retirement procedures XV. To consistently demonstrate self-direction XVI. To submit accurate records and reports promptly XVII. To exhibit professional ethics at all times XVIII. To foster open communication and positive relationships with the school personnel and staff, as well as the community XIX. To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Finance Director XX.
