About this role
SUMMARY: The receptionist provides clerical support to students, parents, staff, and community members. This position exemplifies quality customer service and ensures that the front desk operates efficiently and effectively. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Places, receives, and routes telephone calls; records and delivers messages, and makes appointments.
• Greets visitors in a professional and courteous manner and ensures that visitors complete the check-in process to enter the building.
• Receives, sorts, and distributes mail to appropriate staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Assists in providing information and/or assistance as directed by administration to staff.
• Prepares correspondences, forms, etc. for the office staff.
• Promotes a positive image of the school district to the public.
• Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location and notifies supervisor or designee of impending absence in a timely manner.
• Any other duties as assigned by district-level administration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Proficient typing, data entry, and filing skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Environment: Standard office and school settings; moderate travel; exposure to potentially stressful environments; regularly perform inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate lifting up to 20 pounds; regularly required to walk, sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; may require climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction; the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
