About this role

Qualifications/Experience: MN Teaching License, or if you have a four-degree you can obtain a Short Call Substitute License from PELSB. Successful background check required Experience working with children preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed: Knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; ability to establish relationships and maintain standards of behavior; willingness to be flexible with daily schedule changes, and duties unrelated to original assignment. Patience, flexibility, love for children, confidentiality, teamwork, self-starter, take direction easily, excellent communication skills, and behavior management skills.

Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty.

Specific Tasks: Filling daily vacancies or other duties as assigned, throughout the building. Effectively manage students. Assume duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher as assigned. Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher. Supervise and ensure the safety of students during classroom hours. Maintain a positive learning environment. Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher. Supervise non-classroom duties when assigned.

Hours Per Day: Temporary assignment, for the 26-27 school year only. 7.5 hours per day Assigned to Cambridge Middle for all student contact days. District paid benefits: long-term disability coverage, district-paid life insurance policy. Sick time available under ESST. Health, dental, and optical insurance available - no district contribution towards premiums. Non-union position.
