WAHLUKE SCHOOL DISTRICT #73 Position Posting/Description Position Title: Preschool ECEAP Early Learning Coach, Position Open Until Filled. Classification: Classified, Hourly, FLSA Non-Exempt Reports to: Preschool Director Employee Union Representation available by Public School Employees Representative District (PSE) Collective Bargaining Agreement Group: Employment Terms: School Year Calendar 180 days plus 3 days prior to school start; plus 10 paid holidays; 8.0 per day; Salary Range PSE Salary Schedule: Early Learning Coach or ECEAP Early Learning Coach dependent upon qualifications. Benefits: Position qualifies for employer contribution to medical benefits; Retirement contributions and plans. Earned sick leave, 10 days per year or prorated from date of hire; personal days, 4 days per year or prorated from date of hire; up to 10 paid holidays per year. Position Summary: The Early Learning Coach works directly in classrooms to provide high-quality instructional leadership and support. This role involves modeling evidence-based strategies, coaching staff using reflective practice, and supporting program-level improvement planning. Provide coaching to teaching and support staff; working one-on-one and in groups to improve knowledge and skills that support high quality teaching practices. Assist the ECEAP Leadership Team in identifying goals and making quality improvement plans to achieve goals. The coach will coordinate closely with Early Achievers and QRIS partners to ensure the highest standards of early childhood education are maintained within the Wahluke School District. Perform classroom and other duties, as a priority, when needed. Perform all assigned duties and responsibilities consistent with state regulations, district policies and procedures and building practices. Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and professional development plan in place to complete a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education within five years from date of hire.
• Ability to work with minimal direction from supervisor.
• 3–5 years of successful experience teaching or coaching in early childhood settings, specifically within ECEAP or QRIS contexts.
• Demonstrated expertise with strength-based coaching models, reflective supervision, and classroom observation tools preferred.
• Bilingual skills or experience working with families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds is preferred.
• Current STARS training certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and tuberculosis (TB) test.
Essential Job Functions:
• Perform strengths-based developmentally appropriate coaching to Preschool Instructors and assistants –through on-site observation, modeling, co-teaching, feedback cycles, and action planning.
• Deliver job-embedded professional development, including small group workshops and in-service STARS training, emphasizing culturally responsive and anti-bias practices.Assist classrooms in implementing curriculum and assessment practices aligned with Washington Early Learning and Development Guidelines, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and Creative Curriculum.
• Create and monitor classroom quality improvement plans
• Complete formal & informal classroom observations including scheduled & unscheduled observations, and ECERS-3 classroom assessments in each ECEAP classroom, observing for compliance to licensing standards, ECEAP Performance Standards, and quality teaching practices, data and assessment.
• Lead sites in preparing for monitoring and continuous improvement cycles within Washington's Early Achievers Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS).
• Participate in Early Achievers webinars, trainings and meetings
• In coordination with the ECEAP Leadership Team, plan, conduct and evaluate staff training.
• Support Preschool staff in utilizing Curriculums to fidelity. Review lesson plans .
• Ensure classrooms are fully stocked with supplies and materials at all times.
• Regularly monitor child observations in Teaching Strategies GOLD to ensure compliance to standards and checkpoint timelines.
• Ensure that classrooms are operating at a high level of quality at all times so that children's welfare, safety and school readiness are of primary focus.
• Provided teaching staff with ongoing feedback, modeling, and coaching towards high quality teaching practices.
• Provide and receive feedback utilizing principles of honesty, encouragement and respect.
• Ensure that proper reporting procedures, tracking and documentation for Child Abuse and Neglect are followed as required by agency policy, state law and ECEAP requirements. This includes instances of unprofessional behavior, child abuse and neglect, failure to supervise and other policy violations involving staff.
• Establish and maintain a positive, trusting, supportive relationship with teaching staff.
• Effective communication, problem solving, planning, cooperation and follow through with teaching staff through frequent meetings, written communication and other means.
• Work together with parents and teaching staff to foster positive self-identity in all children and families.
• Participate in collaborative meetings with leadership to align coaching efforts with program goals and district-wide quality improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with local Early Achievers administrators and community partners through monthly coaching meetings.
• Provide training to all teaching staff related to ongoing child assessment and its connection to teaching and learning.
• Assist teaching staff in finding solutions for issues and select strategies for the situations
• Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our sites/centers, playgrounds, buses and anywhere that children may be present.
• Be familiar with and encourage District goals mission, policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate coaching records, progress notes, and required documentation in systems such as MERIT, IMPACT, and the Coach Educator Community Interface (CECI).
• Maintain professional student boundaries.
• Attend student field trips as assigned.
• Available to travel for professional development and other activities which may be performed after work ours including overnight.
• Perform classroom and other duties, as a priority, when needed.

• Within 30 days of employment a TB skin test, at no cost to the employee.
