Join us for the 2026–2027 school year! Overdale Elementary is Looking for an Evening Custodian Sweeper! WAIVER Announcement: Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Bullitt County Public Schools is requesting a waiver to fill this position before the standard 15-day posting period to ensure we are fully staffed for the upcoming school year. Individuals in the role perform routine custodial activities to maintain our school and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and secure condition. Position Details Hours: 5.5 hours per day Contract Length: 182 days per year
• 170 student instructional days
• 4 holidays
• 7 plannning days
• 1 extended day
Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date Employment Status: Full-time with benefits Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule Qualifications & Requirements
• Education:
• High school diploma or GED
• Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.
Compensation & Experience Credit 2026-2027 Pay Scale
• Starting Pay (Step 0): $14.84/hour
• Experienced Pay (Step 10): $16.89/hour
We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired. New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.
• The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.
Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
